Prishtina – Civil society held a peaceful march today to ask for the political situation in the country to quiet down and not to produce episodes of violence today in parliament.
In fact, civil society demanded an adjournment to today’s session to offer more time to president Jahjaga to talk to the opposition in order to find a solution.
Present in this march were also prominent publicists such as Flaka Surroi, Halil Matoshi, Arbana Xharra and representatives of the Kosovo Democratic Institute.
Ismet Kryeziu of KDI said that he has come out to march in a peaceful way in order for the session to be adjourned for another day and for president Atifete Jahjaga to talk to the opposition in search of a solution.
Meanwhile, the opposition in Kosovo has declared that it has no intention to allow today’s session, scheduled to take place at 4 pm.
According to the spokesman of Self Determination Party, Frasher Krasniqi, it would be absurd to allow the holding of today’s session at a time when the governing coalition is dividing Kosovo.
“There’s no sense in allowing parliamentary proceedings if the country is heading toward ethnic division. We will continue our protest in parliament and we are determined not to allow the continuation of the session”, Krasniqi said, adding that the protest will continue until the agreements with Serbia and the agreement for the Demarcation with Montenegro are revoked./rtk/
