Kosovo Customs has today carried out an action in the region of Pristina, where it has managed to confiscate goods that are suspected to be smuggled and are worth about 800 thousand euros.

The announcement states that this action is based on the legal authorizations originating from the Customs and Excise Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

During the operation, customs officials have carried out checks in five different locations, mainly warehouses of businesses.

“The checks revealed a significant amount of sports underwear with different protected brands, as well as a quantity of textile clothing. According to the authorities, the goods found are suspected of not possessing the necessary documentation for origin and regular customs clearance in the Republic of Kosovo. After the case was identified, the guardian prosecutor from the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Pristina was notified, who authorized the initiation of further procedural actions. The persons suspects related to the ownership of the goods are being interviewed, while the goods are being inventoried and confiscated to be transported to the Kosovo Customs warehouses. The authorities emphasize that the Kosovo Customs remains committed to fighting smuggling and protecting the legal market in the country,” Klankosova.tv reports in the announcement.
