In the margins of the activities on the occasion of the General Assembly of the UN, Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga has met in New York with King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Jahjaga and King Abdullah talked about the continuation and deepening of cooperation between the two countries, especially in the process of international recognition of Kosovo, as well as cooperation in the field of economy and security.
President Jahjaga thanked King Abdullah for Jordan’s continuous support in the international consolidation process of Kosovo’s membership in international organizations, praising Jordan’s assistance as one of the most important partnerships of Kosovo in the Middle East.
Jahjaga asked for Jordan’s help in order to coordinate successfully the accession process of the Republic of Kosovo in UNESCO.
She also stressed the necessity of coordination of partner countries in joint response to extremist threats. President noted that countries should share experiences and join efforts to address this global threat.
King Abdullah II of Jordan praised the relations between the two countries. He emphasized that Jordan’s support for Kosovo will continue adding that his country will increase its foreign policy efforts to support Kosovo in the process of recognition and the process of UNESCO membership, through the countries that they have good bilateral relations.
