A common energy market between Kosovo and Albania is being concretized. Minister of Economical Development Blerand Stavilevci and Albanian Minister of Energy and Industry, Damian Gjiknuri, have noted today in Prishtina that the studies which preceded the establishment of the common energy market, have proved that its creation is both technically and economically profitable for the two countries.
According the agreement signed last year, both countries will build the 400 kV interconnection line, a project supported by the German bank KWF.
The first meeting of the Steering Committee on the establishment of a common electricity market between Kosovo and Albania was held yesterday. Albanian minister Gjiknuri is accompanied by a delegation, including the chairman of Albanian Energy Regulatory Entity, Petrit Ahmeti, the administrator of Operator of the Electricity Distribution (OSHEE), Adrian Cela, the Ceo of Albanian Transmission System Operator, Engjell Zeqo and that of Energetic Corporation (KESH) Agron Hetoja.
