The number of Syrians who have applied in the past month has reached 5000. However, they say this number includes those who have reunited with their families already in Netherlands.

Since 2015, only four Albanians were accepted for asylum. 795 others were rejected. Zeki Shehu, from the Coordination Council in Netherlands said for the media that many Albanians cannot make the distinction between asylum and immigration: “They want to look for a job”, he says.

The Dutch government has accelerated the management of the requests from safe countries of origin, with the purpose to return them as soon as possible.

This January, Netherlands reached an agreement with Albanian authorities for deporting larg groups of illegal citizens with special airplanes.
