Former Manchester United manager Ruben Amorimi is among the frontrunners to become the next manager of a Premier League club just five months after he was sacked.
Amorimi left United in January after just 14 months in charge.
His spell at the club coincided with Manchester United’s worst ever Premier League finish, 15th, as well as with the 2025 Europa League final defeat to Tottenham.

At the time, the 20-time English champions were sixth in the table. Premier League.
Now, five months on, Amorim’s failed spell at United seems a distant memory as his successor, Michael Carrick, guided the side to a third-place finish in the Premier League and securing Champions League qualification during the second half of the 2025/26 season.
After leaving United, Amorim was linked with several posts in Portugal.
Some reports have suggested that he could replace Jose Mourinho on the Benfica bench, due to his link with the Lisbon club, where he played during his career.
However, that transfer is now off the table as former Fulham boss Marco Silva has agreed to take charge of Benfica at the Estádio da Luz, while Mourinho is expected to be confirmed as Real’s new manager. Madrid.
Silva’s departure could open the door for Amorim to return to English football.
The former Manchester United coach is among the main candidates to take charge of Fulham, although Ipswich Town coach Kieran McKenna remains the main favorite for the post./Express
