During a session in the Foreign Policy Committee of the European Parliament on the report on Kosovo, the Representative of the European Commission for Enlargement, Jiri Plecity, announced that all the financial funds that were previously blocked due to the measures against Kosovo, have already been released.
He explained that the process of removing the measures had started gradually since May of last year, while in December 2025, the president of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, had warned the further phases of the release of funds. “I can confirm that the commission has fully released the financial assistance funds for Kosovo,” Plecity said.
For his part, the rapporteur for Kosovo, Ruiho Terras, criticized the measures previously imposed, underlining their significant impact on citizens, civil society and other structures of Kosovar society.
