The police seized 101 packs of cigarettes worth about 85,000 euros in Leposavic, the suspects fled to Serbia

Kosovo police have seized 101 packs of smuggled cigarettes in the municipality of Leposaviq.

According to the police report, police units observed two suspicious vehicles during patrolling. The people who were in them left in the direction of Serbia as soon as they noticed the presence of the police.

After checking the vehicles, the police found and confiscated 101 packs of cigarettes, the value of which is estimated to be around 80 to 85 thousand euros. A radio link was also found and seized at the scene.

The two vehicles involved in the case were confiscated and sent to the customs terminal for further investigative procedures.

“Leposaviq 13.03.2026, 18:00. During patrolling, the police unit noticed two vehicles with two suspects who, when they noticed the police, fled in the direction of Serbia. During the search of the vehicles, they found seized 101 packs of cigarettes worth about 80-85 thousand euros as well as a radio link. By the decision of the prosecutor, the two vehicles are seized and sent to the customs terminal for further investigations”, says the police report.
