The war veterans who work in regional public enterprises have not yet received their pensions for the month of February.

Among them is Faruk Jusufi from Klina, employed at KRM “Ambienti”.

He says that after the decision of the Supreme Court, three pensions in the amount of 102 euros have been executed, but for the last month the payment was not made on the 20th.

Faruk from the village of Bokshiq, as The 20-year-old had become a member of the Kosovo Liberation Army.

He has been enjoying the veteran’s pension since the war, but after the employment in this company where he still works today, he was terminated. For three months he managed to get it again, while for a month now the payment has not been executed by the state. This has not been announced in advance.

The same has happened to other co-combatants, as Jusufi points out, all those who work in public companies, even if they are self-financed.

The Organization of Veterans of the War of the Kosovo Liberation Army (OVL-UÇK) has received many complaints regarding this situation, says the vice president of the organization, Gazmend Syla.

The suspension of pensions for this category, Syla considers that it is injustice.

Syla calls on these veterans to turn to the courts, for which Faruk Jusufi says that he is ready to follow the legal path.

In response to KosovaPress, the Ministry for Work, Family and Values of the Liberation War says that they are handling these cases as every decision is made in accordance with the legal provisions.

Naim Jakaj from the Kosovo Institute for Justice (IKD) also considers it unfair the fact that employees in the public sector cannot enjoy the war veteran’s pension.

Faruk Jusufi from Klina was part of the 132 brigade “Myrt Zeneli” and then also in the “Agim Zeneli”.

In October of last year, the Supreme Court annulled an article of the administrative instruction, which required KLA veterans to present evidence that they were not in employment to benefited from the pension. They are entitled to 50 percent of the war veteran’s pension.
