in order to identify dangerous persons and supporters of the KLA.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There was a person known by the nickname &#8220;Musa&#8221;, he dressed in a police uniform before the war and since the villages of Vushtrri were surrounded, that is, an unequal war was being waged against the unprotected civilian population, who had gathered at the cemetery &#8211; there was a large number of Albanian civilians, when they separated women separately, and men separately in order to search for dangerous persons and supporters of the KLA, among all the other persons was the accused,&#8221; said the prosecutor, among other things.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, for the accused Kostiq, she said that he was stationed in the house of Shaip Zeneli, where they received orders from there, and then started the activity against the Albanian civilian population, burning houses, beating, mistreatment and killing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8221; together with other armed and uniformed persons entered the Ujkani family and killed the members of the Ujkani family, then burned their house, where their corpses were inside, where they were all burned,&#8221; said the prosecutor.<\/p>\n<p>Zoran Kosti\u0107 and Dragan Milovi\u0107 are accused of, in their capacity as members of the Serbian police, in collaboration with other members of the Serbian police, army and paramilitary formations, having committed war crimes against the civilian population during conflict in Kosovo.<\/p>\n<p>According to the indictment filed on May 16, 2024, during the war in Kosovo, the accused Zoran Kosti\u0107, as a member of the Serbian police forces, in collusion with other members of the police, army and Serbian paramilitary, wearing a police uniform and armed, knowingly and intentionally, acting according to the plan and orders of his superiors, participated directly in the attack against the civilian population of Albanian nationality, specifically to the Ujkani family during a well-organized action, after the Serbian forces were stationed in Sh.Z&#8217;s house, which the Serbian police and army used as a headquarters, on the critical day in the offensive of the Serbian army against the civilian population.<\/p>\n<p>According to the indictment, among the other members of the Serbian army and paramilitaries, there was also the accused Kostiq, who participated in the looting of the houses of Albanian residents, then burned the houses and killed unarmed civilians in the village of Reznik, such as: I.U, M.U with his wife, B.U, F.U, S.U, F.U., (of the Ujkani family) also on the critical day, T.U and his wife H.U were also killed, and in order to destroy the evidence and implement the plan as a whole, they set fire to the houses and burned the corpses of the Ujkani family (this event was seen by the witness B.U).<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the indictment states that on May 22, 1999, the accused Kostiq, in collaboration with other unidentified persons, had ordered the expulsion of the Albanian population from their homes, forcing them to continue towards the city cemetery and separating the men from the women and children, where in that crowd were members of the Dallku family &#8211; M.D, A.D, F.D, E.D, SH.D, V.D, V.D, V.D, L.LL and three people with the last name Haliti.<\/p>\n<p>On the way to the city cemetery, the Serbian policeman M.C., says to the accused Kostiq &#8220;you know what to do with this&#8221; and there they start to beat the civilians with strong tools such as metal pipes, strong wooden sticks, machine guns and others, then they ordered them to enter the shop to the Rashans, where there were also three other civilians H.H, E.H and N.H, then they again ordered them to leave the bar and go in front of S.P.&#8217;s house, where there were also some paramilitaries in military uniforms of combined colors, who had short and long weapons. this group&#8221; where there were about 12 people, but one of the paramilitaries had told them that everything has ended here and continue somewhere else, so they continued through other roads to go to the city cemetery and in front of the house of dr. Ramadan Gjoni.<\/p>\n<p>The indictment says that upon arriving there, Kostiq had ordered the civilians to lean their faces against the wall with their hands up, and at one point the policeman Kostiq had approached the victim Sh.D and had left four-five gun cartridges in the right pocket of his jacket, and after a while he ordered them to take out the things they had with them, while at that moment Sh.D took the cartridges out of his pocket, just in case Kostiq says &#8220;you were carrying cartridges to kill policemen&#8221; and calls a paramilitary who was hairless, tall, armed and in military clothing, long and short firearms, as well as knives, and there he separated Sh, S separately, V., N., and E.H., bringing them into Gjoni&#8217;s house together with two other paramilitaries, and after a while gunshots were heard and Sh.D was killed, and V., they took four paramilitaries in a car after they had found out that he had two cars at home, they took them away, in the meantime the bombings by NATO started and then all the people who were in the city cemetery in Vushtrri were scattered.<\/p>\n<p>According to the indictment, it is said that on May 24, 1999, the injured &#8211; witness V.L., after being separated from his family by the Serbian paramilitary forces, was arrested and taken to the police station in Vushtrri, to be questioned. There, the accused Kostiq hit the injured V.L with a strong tool two or three times behind the head, with the reasoning that &#8220;he is a terrorist of the KLA&#8221;, who is relieved by these blows.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, as an accomplice, the accused Kostiq is charged with having committed the criminal offense of &#8220;War crimes against the civilian population&#8221; from Article 142 in relation to Article 22 of the LP of the RSF, provided also by the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo, &#8220;War crimes in serious violation of common article 3 of the Geneva Conventions&#8221; from article 146, par.1 and 2, subsection 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 of the KPRK, related to article 31 of the KPRK.<\/p>\n<p>According to the second provision, the accused Dragan Milovi\u0107 during the war in Kosovo, as a member of the Serbian police forces, during the war in Kosovo, along with others, forcibly sent some 20 thousand civilian residents of Vushtrri to the city cemetery, and there the accused mistreated, beat and tortured civilians, who were gathered at the city cemetery, among them was K.Sh., who now knew the accused Milovic and begged the accused to save him, but the same said &#8220;I have not ca me e ba&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Then, it is said that the accused Milovi\u0107, together with some armed Serbian policemen, began to separate the Albanian civilian population, as well as forcing them to put their hands tied behind their heads and fall with their knees on their heads to the ground, repeatedly hitting some with an iron cane, and some with wooden sticks and weapons.<\/p>\n<p>The indictment says that A.A was also in that crowd, K.SH, H.K, F.B, M.M, S.R, T.F and others, where K.SH and A.A had now seen the accused Milovic, who was wearing a Serbian police uniform and police equipment, continuously hitting these civilians with a metal stick and also beating the civilians with boxes and kicks, where the same had managed to identify the accused Milovic.<\/p>\n<p> the indictment says that the witness A.A., while he was in line in the crowd of people, heard a Serbian policeman addressing the accused Dragan, &#8220;stop what you are doing, so these things (cows) are not&#8221;, then they forcibly put them in trucks and sent them to Smrekonica prison, where they were mistreated in the most brutal ways, also by other criminals, and that after a few days of being in prison, they infiltrated the Republic of Albania.<\/p>\n<p>Herewith, it is accused of having committed the criminal offense of &#8220;War crimes against the civilian population&#8221;, foreseen and punishable under articles 142 and 22 of the Criminal Code of the RSFJ, currently penalized by articles 31 and 153 of the KPRK, in violation of common articles 3 and 4 of the Geneva Conventions, dated August 12, 1949, of articles 4 and 5 (1) of Protocol 2 of June 8, 1977, annex to the Geneva Conventions of 1949, all rules of international law in force at the time of the armed conflict in Kosovo.<\/p>\n<p>We use cookies to improve the experience and display advertisements (Google AdSense).<br \/>\n          By clicking &#8220;Accept&#8221;, you agree to the use of cookies according to<br \/>\n          Privacy Policy<br \/>\n          and<br \/>\n          Cookies Policy.<br \/>\n          You can reject non-necessary cookies by clicking &#8220;Reject&#8221;.<\/p>\n<hr style=\"margin:30px 0\">\n<p style=\"font-size:13px;color:#666\">Source: <strong>prizrenpost<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Basic Court in Pristina issued a verdict of guilty against Zoran Kosti\u0107 and Dragan Millovi\u0107, accused of war crimes.
