According to data from an Israeli research institute, at least 22 Israelis have been killed and more than 4,800 displaced from their homes since the start of the war with Iran, reports Anadolu.<\/p>\n
The Institute for National Security Studies said more than 5,000 people have also been injured in attacks on Israel since the start of the war on February 28, while Iran has fired more than 550 rockets and over 765 drones towards country during the same period.<\/p>\n
The institute said that more than 4,800 Israelis have been evacuated from their homes, with the largest number from Tel Aviv, namely about 1,515. In southern Israel, about 975 people have been displaced from Dimona, 600 from Arad and 505 from Beersheba.<\/p>\n
Other evacuations include about 650 people from Beit Shemesh west of Quds, 160 from Bnei Brak, 80 from Ramla, 75 from Givatayim and 45 from Ramat Gan in the Tel Aviv area. Smaller numbers were also reported in other areas, including Kiryat Shmona, Tirat Carmel, Emek Hefer, Holon and the Arab towns of Kafr Qasim and Zarzir.<\/p>\n
The institute said evacuees are being housed in hotels in the southern city of Eilat at government expense during periods of escalation.<\/p>\n
These figures come as Israel’s Health Ministry earlier said the number of injured had risen to 5,492 since the start of the war.<\/p>\n
The conflict began on February 28, when Israel and the US launched attacks on Iran. Tehran and Hezbollah have since retaliated with constant rocket and drone attacks on Israeli cities and settlements.<\/p>\n
