President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today that Turkey is making the “necessary calls and initiatives” to reduce tensions, extend the ceasefire and continue talks on the US and Israeli attacks on Iran, Anadolu reports.<\/p>\n
“The Israeli government, which is known to be unhappy with the ceasefire process, should not be allowed to sabotage it,” Erdogan said during the parliamentary group meeting of his Justice and Peace Party. Development (AK).<\/p>\n
“Negotiations cannot take place with clenched fists. Arms must not be allowed to speak for words again. The window of opportunity opened by the ceasefire must be used,” he said.<\/p>\n
Erdogan also praised Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, saying: “I heartily congratulate my dear friend Sanchez, who has taken a firm stand against butcher Netanyahu’s threats.” Regarding regional stability, Erdogan said: “If there is peace in our region, it will be despite the Zionist regime. If stability is achieved, it will be again despite the Israeli government.” he.<\/p>\n
Erdogan said that “Turkey will continue to protect the rights of our brothers whose lands are occupied in the West Bank and follow the cause of children killed in their sleep in Lebanon.” to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to him and Turkey, Erdogan said: “I remind the baby killers who speak against me and our country of a few facts: The Republic of Turkey is not an ordinary state”.<\/p>\n
The Turkish Foreign Ministry on Saturday criticized Netanyahu for comments aimed at Erdogan, saying the Turkish leader’s targeting was the result of “concern caused by the truths we have expressed on every platform”.<\/p>\n
Noting the arrest warrant that is issued to Netanyahu by the International Criminal Court for war crimes and crimes against humanity, the statement warned of Netanyahu’s efforts to undermine ongoing peace talks and continue his expansionist policies in the region.<\/p>\n
The statement further reiterated Turkey’s determination in its efforts to hold Netanyahu accountable for his crimes, along with the support of innocent civilians.<\/p>\n
