US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the US is “very close” to reaching an agreement with Iran, while the two-week ceasefire between the two countries is approaching expiration, Anadolu reports.<\/p>\n
“And if that happens, oil drops a lot, prices drop a lot, inflation drops a lot, and you won’t have a nuclear holocaust,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “We’re having a very good relationship with the new Iranian leaders. It’s really a regime change,” he added.<\/p>\n
However, Trump did not give a clear message on whether the ceasefire will be extended.<\/p>\n
“I’m not sure if it needs to be extended,” he said, also adding: “Iran wants to do a deal, and we’re cooperating very well with them … and they’re willing to do things today that they weren’t willing to do two years ago.” months”.<\/p>\n
He claimed that Iran has agreed not to have nuclear weapons. “They’ve agreed to that, very strongly, they’ve agreed to give us back the nuclear dust.” Trump said he may visit Islamabad if a deal is reached. Asked about the next round of direct talks, Trump said it would take place “probably over the weekend.” He said the deal would be announced “pretty soon,” adding: “This will give us free oil and the Straits Free Hormuz.
