Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and the Muslim World League have condemned the attack on the United Nations peacekeeping force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), in the south of the country, where a French peacekeeper was killed and three others were wounded.<\/p>\n
Bahrain’s foreign ministry described the attack as a “flagrant violation of international law”, reaffirming support for Lebanon’s efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice, according to a official statements.<\/p>\n
Also, Bahrain expressed support for UNIFIL’s role in maintaining peace and stability in Lebanon.<\/p>\n
Even the Muslim World League condemned the attack, where the Secretary General, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa described it as a “serious violation” of UN resolutions and international humanitarian law, which require the protection of peacekeeping personnel.<\/p>\n
The United Arab Emirates released a similar statement, stressing that the attack on peacekeepers constitutes a violation of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 1701. They expressed condolences to France and solidarity with Lebanon, and called for a full investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n
French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed earlier that one French UNIFIL peacekeeper was killed and three others were wounded in Saturday’s attack. \/message<\/p>\n
