Gërvalla.

“No court decision can bring back the lost life nor ease the pain of the family. Life imprisonment for Naim Murseli and 30 years imprisonment for Kushtrim Kokalla, full responsibility for a crime that shocked our society. Violence against women and femicide are crimes that require a harsh, clear and uncompromising response. No court decision can bring back the lost life or soften the pain of the family. But justice must be clear determined and uncompromising in the face of such crimes”, declared the head of the Ministry of Justice.

Further she also said that as the Minister of Justice and National Coordinator against Violence, I reiterate that the fight against violence against women remains a daily institutional priority.

“This is not an issue that is dealt with only when tragic cases occur, but an ongoing battle that requires continuous commitment. The effectiveness of our institutions is also measured by the determination of the sentences that are imposed. The sentences must be in line with the gravity of the crime, sending a clear message that violence and murders are not tolerated and not relativized under any circumstances. In this regard, we remain committed to strengthening prevention mechanisms, improving institutional response and deepening inter-institutional coordination, so that no case of violence remains untreated and no victim is left without protection. Our society can no longer tolerate either silence or the normalization of violence. This is a red line. And this line must be protected with justice, responsibility and continuous action,” she declared.

We use cookies to improve the experience and display ads (Google AdSense).
By clicking “Accept”, you agree to the use of cookies according to
Privacy Policy
and
Cookies Policy.
You can reject non-necessary cookies by clicking “Reject”.

Source: prizrenpost

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Donika Gërvalla has reacted to the life imprisonment sentence for Naim Murseli and Granit Plava as well as 30 years for Kushtrim Kokalla who were found guilty of the murder of Liridona Ademaj.
