In the Cardiology Clinic near the University Clinical Center of Kosovo, the transformation worth 1.5 million euros was inaugurated today, an investment that will improve the treatment conditions for patients, especially in terms of diagnostics.<\/p>\n
In the inauguration of these renovations, the prime minister, Albin Kurti, also participated, who said that this investment directly affects the lives and health of citizens, reports KosovaPress.<\/p>\n
According to him, the changes made will reduce the waiting list at the Clinic. Cardiology.<\/p>\n
“The investment reaches the value of 1.5 million euros, while the treatment capacities will increase significantly. From over 4,000 interventions per year as it has been until now, the goals are to reach the capacity up to 8,000 interventions per year.. in addition, the waiting lists will also be reduced, the investment includes important infrastructure investments”, he said.<\/p>\n
The Minister of Health, Arben Vitia said that with these investments are being given due attention to the Cardiology Clinic.<\/p>\n
According to him, this renovation will increase the possibilities for more diagnostics and better conditions for patients and health personnel.<\/p>\n
“A few months ago when the renovation of this part that you saw started, now it has finished. We started with the renovation of the semi-intensive unit, which will also be finished during this year, to continue with the second floor where chronic cardiology patients are found and in this way we are giving due attention to one of the most important clinics in our health system, the Cardiology Clinic, since most of the morbidity and mortality of patients in Kosovo, as well as in the world, is from cardiovascular diseases…after the renovation, this clinic will have optimal conditions for patients, increasing the number of those who are diagnosed and treated in this clinic, improving the treatment conditions in this clinic, and above all, improving the conditions of the doctors”, he said.<\/p>\n
The ambassador of Luxembourg in Kosovo, Eric Dietz said that such investments are saving lives.<\/p>\n
“I believe that the inauguration of this Card Lab will mark an important step forward in the provision of quality health services here in Kosovo. The problem was known. Cardiovascular diseases account for 35% of deaths in the world and in Kosovo it is very similar. We know that in the past there were long waiting lists here to receive proper health care, that is why Luxembourg reacted quickly. We were here together with the Prime Minister in August when we started the renovation of the hospital, and I would like to congratulate the Luxembourg Development Agency, LuxDev, for this performance. The renovation was completed in November and since then 1,000 patients have already been treated, so these investments are really saving lives,” he said.<\/p>\n
Even today a case was reported in the KKUK that a family member of a patient was attacked by stray dogs and Prime Minister Kurti said that measures are being taken in this direction.<\/p>\n
“Measures are being taken for this and we have responsible persons and processes for this matter from the Municipality of Pristina, but at the same time there are clinic directors and the director of the KKUK who can give answers about these things. Believe me, I am only the prime minister of Kosovo, I am not the director of the KKUK and of each of its clinics”, he declared. <\/p>\n
A week ago, the Cardiology Clinic was covered with a lack of stands for patients in this clinic.<\/p>\n
