Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran has resumed some international flights this morning, reports Anadolu.<\/p>\n

As the state broadcaster IRIB reports, the first flights that departed from Tehran were directed to Istanbul, Muscat and Medina.<\/p>\n

The resumption of flights came after the executive director of Imam Khomeini Airport City, Ramin Kashef Azar, said yesterday that international passenger flights will resume.<\/p>\n

Air traffic was largely disrupted after the outbreak of war on February 28, when the US and Israel launched a joint offensive against Iran, prompting a retaliation from Tehran.<\/p>\n

The war has been suspended since April 8 under a ceasefire brokered by Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Washington and Tehran held talks in Pakistan two weeks ago, as efforts are made to organized a new round of negotiations.<\/p>\n

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is in Islamabad, while US envoys Steve Wittkoff and Jared Kushner are also on their way to the Pakistani capital. However, the likelihood of live chats resuming immediately remains low.<\/p>\n
