The US military has announced that it has carried out a “deadly” attack on a ship in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, killing two suspected narco-terrorists, reports Anadolu.<\/p>\n
US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) on the American social network X claimed that intelligence has identified the ship as operating along “known drug trafficking routes” and being actively involved in suspected drug trafficking operations. narcotics.<\/p>\n
The attack was ordered by Gen. Francis L. Donovan, commander of SOUTHCOM, and was carried out by the Joint Task Force against what it described as a vessel operated by a \u201cdesignated terrorist organization.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTwo male suspected narco-terrorists were killed during this operation,\u201d the command said.<\/p>\n
The operation came as part of President Donald Trump’s administration’s intensified military activity in the Sea of Caribbean and Eastern Pacific Ocean since last September in the name of fighting drug trafficking.<\/p>\n
Authorities say at least 163 people have been killed since the operations began.<\/p>\n
Critics say these attacks amount to extrajudicial executions, where the accused have no chance to defend themselves or prove their innocence before being killed.<\/p>\n
They also argue that pardons granted by President Trump on convicted drug traffickers show that he is not really interested in fighting the illegal drug trade.<\/p>\n
