The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has condemned the shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, reports Anadolu.<\/p>\n

“It is reassuring for us that no one was hurt, especially the American President Donald Trump and his honorable wife Melania Trump”, Erdogan said in a post on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.<\/p>\n

Erdogan emphasized that in a democracy, confrontations take place through ideas and that “there is no room for any form.” violence”.<\/p>\n

The attack happened on Saturday evening at the Washington Hilton hotel, where the annual dinner was being held. A suspect, identified by American media as a 31-year-old man, has been arrested, while authorities are investigating his motives. According to officials, a Secret Service officer was shot but was protected by a bulletproof vest and is recovering.<\/p>\n
