{"id":3348,"date":"2016-05-21T16:00:08","date_gmt":"2016-05-21T14:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/prizrenpost.com\/en\/?p=3348"},"modified":"2016-05-22T00:33:24","modified_gmt":"2016-05-21T22:33:24","slug":"the-hottest-temperature-ever-recorded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/prizrenpost.com\/en\/the-hottest-temperature-ever-recorded\/","title":{"rendered":"The hottest temperature ever recorded"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/prizrenpost.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/trtworld-nid-109665-fid-139957-1.jpg\" alt=\"trtworld-nid-109665-fid-139957 (1)\" width=\"100%\" height=\"\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3349\" \/><\/p>\n<p>India has just recorded its hottest temperature ever, keeping 2016 well on track to be the warmest year in history.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures in the Indian city of Phalodi, Rajasthan, jumped to a searing 51 degrees Celsius (123.8 F) on Thursday, topping a previous record of 50.6 Celsius set in 1956 in Alwar.<\/p>\n<p>India, currently experiencing a severe heatwave, joins Cambodia and Laos as three countries which have recorded its hottest temperatures yet after a report by NASA predicted 2016 could be the hottest year ever recorded.<\/p>\n<p>India&#8217;s Metrological Department&#8217;s director B.P.Yadav said, &#8220;Yesterday [Thursday] was the hottest temperature ever recorded in the country&#8230; 51 degrees in Phalodi.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures in northern India regularly hit the high 40s in May and June, the hottest months of the year, but topping 50 degrees is unusual.<\/p>\n<p>In neighbouring Pakistan, conditions have not been any less forgiving after the Weather Channel reported temperatures in the city of Jacobabad peaked at 51.5 Celsius (124.7 F) on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia have also come close to setting new record national heat records.<\/p>\n<p>The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in the United States said that last month was the hottest April in modern history.<\/p>\n<p>It added, &#8220;This marks the 12th consecutive month the monthly global temperature record has been broken, the longest such streak in the 137-year record.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to NASA, 15 of the last 16 years have been the warmest on record and experts say global warming is at least partially to blame for a number of environmental disasters around the world, from the bleaching of the Great Barrier Reef to the wildfires raging across Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Last year marked the hottest on record, beating 2014 which previously held the title, but it now seems 2016 may break that mark by a big margin.<\/p>\n<p>The World Bank said earlier this week that the global community is not prepared for a swift increase in climate change-related natural disasters such as floods and droughts, which will put 1.3 billion people at risk, by 2050.<\/p>\n<p>[youtube a2mJ1osqzhE]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>India has just recorded its hottest temperature ever, keeping 2016 well on track to be the warmest year in history.
