Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam vowed on Friday to retake “every centimeter” of occupied territory and advance economic recovery efforts, reports Anadolu.<\/p>\n
In a statement posted by the Lebanese prime minister’s office on the platform of American social media company X, Salam in a message marking Labor Day addressed workers across Lebanon, acknowledging the hardships faced by many. of them in the midst of a prolonged economic crisis.<\/p>\n

As of 2019, Lebanon has experienced a financial collapse described by the World Bank as one of the worst in modern history. The Lebanese pound has lost more than 98 percent of its value, weakening from around 1,500 to around 90,000 to the dollar.<\/p>\n
Salam added that the government aims to create new job opportunities, restore stability and put the country on the path to “real recovery”.<\/p>\n
Lebanon’s economic crisis has deepened recently, worsened by Israeli attacks and ongoing displacement.
