The Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Pej\u00eb, namely the Department for Serious Crimes, has announced that it has filed an indictment against the defendant with the initials M.N., on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “Migrant smuggling”, according to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.<\/p>\n
According to the indictment, the case occurred on March 18, 2026, around 3:00 p.m., in the village of Drelaj Rugova. The defendant is suspected of having attempted to transport migrants to the border with Montenegro for financial gain. “Investigations show that M.N. initially met with some foreign citizens of Sudanese nationality at the Bus Station in Peja. After an agreement reached between them, he agreed to send them near the border, provided that payment for the service was made after they arrived at their destination,” it is said in Klankosova.tv broadcasts the announcement.<\/p>\n
However, during the implementation of this plan, the defendant’s vehicle was noticed by the Border Police in the area of Rugova. During the control, the migrants were identified, while the suspect was arrested at the scene. Also, the vehicle suspected to have been used to commit the criminal offense was seized.<\/p>\n
The prosecutor of the case, upon filing the indictment, has proposed to the competent court that the defendant be found guilty and punished in accordance with the law for the criminal offense he is charged with.<\/p>\n
