Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense said today that “a number of hostile drones” have been detected in the country’s airspace, as tensions continue to escalate between Iran and the United States, reports Anadolu.<\/p>\n
“The drones were dealt with according to approved procedures,” said the ministry’s spokesman, Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan, in a statement published by the Kuwaiti military on the American social platform X.<\/p>\n
He said that Kuwait’s armed forces are “fully ready” to protect the country’s security and ensure the safety of citizens and residents.<\/p>\n
Regional tensions have escalated since the US and Israel launched strikes against Iran on February 28, prompting Tehran to retaliate against Israel as well as US allies in the Persian Gulf, along with closing the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n
A cease-fire came into effect. entered into force on April 8 through the mediation of Pakistan, but talks in Islamabad failed to produce a lasting agreement.
