Germany intends to expand its cooperation with Ukraine in the development of high-tech weapons, reports Anadolu.<\/p>\n

“Berlin is committed to developing new weapons systems in cooperation with Ukraine,” Defense Minister Boris Pistorius told the German news agency (DPA) in Kiev, where he arrived this morning.<\/p>\n

“Strengthening this cooperation as part of a strategic partnership is the main purpose of the trip,” he added. him.<\/p>\n

Today’s visit was not publicly announced. “The focus is on the joint development of state-of-the-art unmanned systems at all ranges, especially in the area of deep strike,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Deep strike refers to the ability to destroy key targets deep within the territory of an enemy country. NATO’s European partners have gaps in the field of long-range weapons that carry out such strikes,” analysts say.<\/p>\n

Pistorius said he believes it is necessary for states to NATO members to act quickly. He added that the German government is pursuing plans for further joint ventures with Ukraine.<\/p>\n

“In doing so, we benefit from the experience of Ukrainians on the battlefield. We also plan to use the ‘Brave One’ platform to support developers who can demonstrate promising innovations,” the minister said.<\/p>\n

During intergovernmental consultations in mid-April, the German government agreed on a strategic partnership with Ukraine and pledged assistance to further military. In the future, this cooperation aims to extend far beyond Germany’s military and financial aid, so that both sides can benefit from it in the long run.<\/p>\n

Germany will finance a contract between Ukraine and the American defense contractor Raytheon for the delivery of several hundred Patriot missiles. In addition, an agreement was reached with the German arms company “Diehl” for the delivery of additional launchers for the IRIS-T air defense systems.<\/p>\n

It was also agreed on the production of medium- and long-range drones. Plans have been drawn up to create joint ventures to deliver thousands of drones.<\/p>\n
