The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has stated that it is impossible to change the trajectory of Cuba as long as the current regime remains in power, reports Anadolu.<\/p>\n

“There is no economy in Cuba. As much as there is wealth in Cuba, it does not go, forget it. It does not go to the people. It does not even go to the government,” said Rubio in an interview for “Fox News”, broadcast on Wednesday, but recorded before this week.<\/p>\n

“The wealth is controlled by a private company, by a company owned by military generals. They get all the money. They have a company that controls all the profits there that are worth $15-16 billion,” he claimed.<\/p>\n

Rubio called Havana’s economy “broken” and “dysfunctional,” saying it is “impossible to change it.” “You can’t change the economic trajectory of Cuba as long as the people who are in charge now are still there. That’s what’s going to have to change because these people have shown themselves to be incompetent,” he said. Rubio.<\/p>\n
