The Minister of Defense of Albania, Ermal Nufi, has stated that Albania remains a staunch ally of NATO and an active partner in international security, reports Anadolu.<\/p>\n
Minister Nufi presented at a press conference the priorities and commitments of the ministry he leads, in the field of national security, the Armed Forces and civil emergency management.<\/p>\n
According to the announcement by the Ministry of Defense of Albania, special attention during the conference was dedicated to the modernization of the Armed Forces of Albania, “where the priority remains investments in air defense systems, drone and anti-drone technologies, cyber defense, artillery firepower, tactical tools and modern communication systems”. remains an unwavering ally of NATO and an active partner in regional and international security”, said Minister Nufi, according to whom, this process is being developed in close cooperation with “NATO allies and strategic partners”.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania currently contribute with about 250 personnel to missions and operations abroad within the framework of NATO, the European Union and the UN.<\/p>\n
Minister Nufi added that the planned exercises are important steps in increasing readiness and interoperability according to NATO standards. He said that within the framework of the commitment to the Peace Board, Albania has taken measures to review the situation in Gaza.<\/p>\n
“Regarding our commitment to the Peace Board and the commitment made to send troops to the International Stabilization Force in Gaza, the Republic of Albania has taken measures regarding first of all the review of the entire situation that is currently taking place in Gaza”, stated Nufi.<\/p>\n
Speaking about the defense industry, Nufi appreciated the agreement between the Albanian state company “Kayo” and the Italian company “Fincantieri”, which according to the ministry aims to create a new shipyard in Pashaliman for the production of vessels.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Defense has announced that recruitment in the Armed Forces of Albania has increased by about 90 percent over the last two years, while the participation of women in the recruitment stages reaches 12-13 percent.<\/p>\n
Also. it is reported that Nufi has stated that today a Task Force has been set up for the organization of the NATO Summit, which will be held next year in Tirana.<\/p>\n
