Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay an official visit to China on May 19-20, at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, after US President Donald Trump’s state visit to Beijing, the Kremlin announced on Saturday, Anadolu reports.<\/p>\n
According to a Kremlin statement, Putin and Xi will discuss bilateral relations, ways to deepen the comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between the two countries, as well as key international issues and regional.<\/p>\n
The two leaders are also expected to sign a joint statement after the talks, along with several intergovernmental and inter-agency agreements, the statement said.<\/p>\n
Putin will also meet with Chinese Premier Li Qiang to discuss trade and economic cooperation.<\/p>\n
The trip coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good Neighborhood and Friendly Cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n
Putin and Xi are expected also participate in the opening ceremony of the “Russia-China Years of Education (2026-2027)”.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, China’s Foreign Ministry confirmed the visit, which comes just days after US President Trump’s trip to Beijing, where he held extensive talks with Xi Jinping.<\/p>\n
In 2025, bilateral trade between Beijing and Moscow will exceed 200 billion dollars.<\/p>\n
On Friday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang said that China and the US are interested in ending the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible and are willing to continue communication to promote peace talks.<\/p>\n
