Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Beijing for a two-day visit during which he will hold talks with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, Anadolu reports.<\/p>\n
The visit comes a week after US President Donald Trump made a state visit to China.<\/p>\n
Putin was received by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi before heading to the Diaoyutai State Residence.<\/p>\n
This marks the time first time that China has hosted the leaders of Russia and the US in the same month outside a multilateral context.<\/p>\n
The last Putin-Xi meeting took place in February via video link.<\/p>\n
Putin is leading a large delegation of officials and business representatives.<\/p>\n
Bilateral relations, the US-Iran war and energy issues are on the agenda.<\/p>\n
Along with their delegations, according to the Kremlin, Putin and Xi will discuss hydrocarbons, gas supplies and the proposed Siberia 2 pipeline project.<\/p>\n
The two leaders are also expected to sign a joint statement after talks and other agreements.<\/p>\n
Putin will later meet with Chinese Premier Li Qiang to discuss trade and economic cooperation.<\/p>\n
Prior to Putin’s arrival, Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang also met with zv\/kryeministrin e par\u00eb rus, Denis Manturov.<\/p>\n

\nBefore arriving in Beijing, Putin said that relations between Moscow and Beijing have reached an “unprecedented level” and stressed that the partnership “is not directed against anyone”.<\/p>\n
In a video message before departure, Putin called the Chinese president an “old and good friend”.<\/p>\n
He also praised economic ties, noting that bilateral trade has exceeded $200 billion and that payments are being made almost entirely in rubles and yuan.<\/p>\n
The visit coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good Neighborhood and Friendly Cooperation between the two countries, signed in 2001 by then Chinese President Jiang Zemin and Putin.<\/p>\n
Putin and Xi will attend the opening ceremony of the “2026-2027 China-Russia Education Years”.<\/p>\n

\nWith this visit, China has hosted all four permanent leaders of the UN Security Council within a few months.<\/p>\n
The council has five permanent members, namely China, Russia, the US, the United Kingdom and France.<\/p>\n
French President Emmanuel Macron visited China in December, while British Prime Minister Keir Starmer visited China in January.<\/p>\n

\nMeanwhile, China today dismissed a Financial Times report that claimed Xi had told Trump that Putin “may regret invading Ukraine”.<\/p>\n
According to China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun, the British newspaper’s claim “is completely untrue”.<\/p>\n
