Rats and vermin are multiplying. Skin infections are spreading. The risk of disease is increasing,&#8221; UNRWA said on the US social media platform X.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hundreds of UNRWA medical staff are treating about 400 cases a day, but they could do more if they got enough medicine,&#8221; the agency said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Over 125,000 cases of rat- and parasite-related skin infections were reported between January and May 2026 in the Gaza Strip,&#8221; UNRWA said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Supplies should be allowed into Gaza on a large scale,&#8221; the agency added.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 877 Palestinians have been killed and 2,602 injured since the ceasefire announced in October. 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The Israeli army has killed more than 72,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured more than 172,000 others in its assault on Gaza since October 2023, according to the ministry.<\/p>\n<p>Despite a ceasefire announced last October, Israel has continued to restrict the entry of agreed humanitarian aid into the enclave, where some 2.4 million Palestinians, including 1.5 million displaced people are facing severe humanitarian conditions.<\/p>\n<hr style=\"margin:30px 0\">\n<p style=\"font-size:13px;color:#666\">Source: <strong>prizrenpost<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More than 125,000 cases of rat- and parasite-related skin infections were reported in the Gaza Strip during the first five months of this year, the UN Palestine Agency said today, Anadolu reports.
