Officials expect this number to increase further in the coming days, before the official start of Hajj rituals.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, a total of 1,673,320 pilgrims took part in the Hajj, of which 1,506,576 were from outside Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p>The escalation of the conflict following the US and Israeli attacks on Iran in late February prompted Iranian attacks on targets in Arabia. Saudi and other Gulf countries, causing air traffic disruptions and increased travel costs.<\/p>\n<p>However, thousands of pilgrims from around the world did not give up the journey to Mecca.
