During yesterday, the acting Government of Kosovo has allocated 2 million euros for the support of flight lines for destinations that serve emigrants.<\/p>\n
According to the announcement, this amount has been allocated within the framework of Measure 4.5 “Support for Emigrants” of the Economic Revival Package.<\/p>\n
In this regard, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, through a post on the social network on Facebook, has announced that the decision of yesterday to allocate 2 million euros is aimed at subsidizing airlines and not related to the June 7 elections.<\/p>\n
Subsidizing airlines for certain destinations is done by most countries in the region and beyond, with the aim of promoting tourism.<\/p>\n
With our wonderful emigrants who do not waste a year without coming to their homeland, we have one more reason to do this. Faced with the risk that part of the flights scheduled during the months of July and August will be canceled due to the increase in the cost of fuel, our decision yesterday to subsidize the airlines connecting the destinations of our emigrants became necessary.<\/p>\n
The cancellation of flights in the summer months would mean that a significant number of compatriots could not come as they usually do in the months of July and August. And this would be bad for them and their families, but it would also be fatal for the country’s economy. That’s why I engaged the ministers Hekuran Murati and Dimal Basha to see the possibility of a measure that would prevent such a situation.<\/p>\n
Yesterday’s decision to allocate 2 million euros is aimed at subsidizing the airlines that connect the “Adem Jashari” Airport with the airports from which our emigrants come, and covers the remaining period of the summer aviation season, which is until the end of October.<\/p>\n
So it is not a question of purchase. of tickets or organized attendance for elections, as claimed by some circles of the opposition bloc. This is a support scheme like most countries in the region do, which enables our emigrants to come and visit us this summer as well, like every year.<\/p>\n
