Tel Aviv’s reaction was immediate and harsh. “A political decision, disconnected from facts and reality,” Danon wrote on the X platform (formerly Twitter), refuting the accusations that, according to Israeli sources, will be included in the next annual report of the UN secretary general.

The document has not yet been made public. “Anyone who puts Israel on the same list as the terrorists and rapists of Hamas has no moral legitimacy to seek cooperation,” Danon declared, confirming the freezing of relations with Guterres’ office. “Israel will wait until a professional and just secretary-general takes office,” he added. On May 11, renowned New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof published a well-documented investigation in his opinion column, titled “The Silence That Accompanying the Rape of Palestinians.”

In the article, Kristof interviewed fourteen Palestinian survivors—men, women, and even children—who confessed to rape, sexual abuse, and systematic torture at the hands of what they say were prison guards, Israeli soldiers and investigators.

The investigation also cites reports from the United Nations and international human rights organizations, describing a situation where sexual violence against Palestinian prisoners is alleged to have become a “standard operating procedure.” the modern press”, while also warning of filing a lawsuit against the journalist.

However, it remains unclear how it can be legally proceeded, since a foreign government cannot easily file a defamation lawsuit against a journalist or private individual. Moreover, by resorting to the jurisdiction of a US court, Israel would be forced to waive, at least in part, its sovereign immunity. /square

Source: prizrenpost

Fierce clash between Tel Aviv and the UN due to the shocking report The conflict between the office of the Secretary General of the UN, António Guterres, and Israel has reached its climax.
