At least 14 people have been killed by Israeli airstrikes that targeted several towns in southern Lebanon, in an open violation of the US-brokered ceasefire that has been in effect since April 17, Anadolu reports.<\/p>\n

Lebanese state news agency NNA reported that in the latest strikes, the Al-Harthiyeh area on the outskirts of Adloun city in Lebanon’s Sidon district was hit by an Israeli attack where eight Syrians were killed.<\/p>\n

Four people were killed in an Israeli attack on a building in the town of Abbasiyeh near the southern city of Tyre, while another person was killed in another airstrike in Deir Qanoun al-Nahr.<\/p>\n

Israeli warplanes also targeted a house in the town of Harayib, injuring several people.<\/p>\n

Israel also carried out other airstrikes that hit towns. Gandouriyeh, Frun, Harayib and Mansouri in southern Lebanon.<\/p>\n

An Israeli drone attack on the town of Majdal Zoun near Tire city also caused injuries.<\/p>\n

In Nabatieh province, Israeli warplanes hit a building in the town of Habboush, destroying it.<\/p>\n

Throughout the day, an Israeli drone flying at low altitude was seen over the capital Beirut.<\/p>\n

Another attack by drone targeted a motorcycle traveling on the Tyre-Abbasiyeh road, leaving several people injured.<\/p>\n

Earlier, a Lebanese policeman was killed in an Israeli drone attack on the city of Aba in Nabatieh province.<\/p>\n

Israel has continued attacks on Lebanon despite a ceasefire that took effect on April 17 and was extended for 45 days, starting on May 17 following indirect talks brokered by USA.<\/p>\n

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, Israeli attacks since March 2 have killed 3,355 people nationwide.<\/p>\n

The escalation comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on May 25 that he had ordered the military to intensify operations in Lebanon.<\/p>\n
