Iran has rejected US President Donald Trump’s recent statements regarding a reported deal, stressing that they contradict the provisions of the draft agreement that is still under review, reports Anadolu.<\/p>\n
Citing anonymous sources, Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency said Trump’s statements are “a mixture of truth and lies” and an attempt to present a “victory of fabricated.”<\/p>\n
A draft agreement based on the principle of “commitment for commitment” is in the final stages of consideration in Iran, although a final decision has not yet been made, the sources added.<\/p>\n
Fars said that no provision of the draft obliges Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz without tariffs or without imposing security and monitoring measures.<\/p>\n
She also rejected Trump’s claim that Iran would dismantle or destroy its nuclear materials, stressing that such a commitment does not exist in the memorandum of understanding being discussed.<\/p>\n
Fars also said a key element of the proposed deal is the immediate release of $12 billion in frozen Iranian assets, arguing that Tehran will not move on to other stages of negotiations until the funds become available.<\/p>\n
The report also added that the draft includes a provision for a full ceasefire in Lebanon consistent with Hezbollah’s position.<\/p>\n
According to the agency, Iranian officials stress that any final agreement must respect the Islamic Republic’s “red lines” and include guarantees of immediate response in the event of a violation by Washington.<\/p>\n
Earlier, in a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump outlined several elements that he said are part of the proposal, including Iran’s commitment to never develop weapons. nuclear power and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for free commercial navigation.<\/p>\n
