While society is watching with despair as one of the last virgin pearls of our ecosystem is being torn apart to be given to the oligarchy in the name of “development”, Edi Rama and Sali Berisha play their parts in a well-staged theater.

This is a silent pact where ideological boundaries are completely hidden in front of narrow interests for power, money and immunity. On the one hand, Edi Rama’s governance has turned Albania into a special menu for self-proclaimed “strategic” investors.

With tailor-made laws, without public hearings and with an arrogance that ignores any environmental assessment, Prime Minister Rama is behaving like the sole and feudal owner of this country. Zvrnec is being sacrificed on the altar of an economic model that does not aim at elite tourism, whose resources go to the threads of powerful interests that connect Washington and Tel Aviv.

For Rama, every inch of land has a price, and the release of these strategic territories to foreign lobbies serves as the best diplomatic shield. This government has completely lost the moral legitimacy to speak in the name of the public interest.

On the other hand, the tragicomedy of the clinical death of true oppositionism appears. It is inexcusable that an opposition that claims to be in an existential struggle with the regime, is so anemic and cosmetic before a scandal of this magnitude.

Sali Berisha, trapped in his personal battles for political and biological survival, has turned the party into a private shield. He has become a hostage to his own appetites to control the seal of leadership and every financial source, hiding behind anti-government rhetoric a great fear of foreign investment axes.

PD does not want to stop the construction of the resort but simply to react enough to pass the queue, because he knows well that facing the names coming from the USA or Israel is a game where they can lose everything.

This bitter reality forces us to we ask the most serious questions that today remain unanswered in the public debate: Has Sali Berisha received a guarantee from Washington that his files in SPAK will drag on indefinitely, in exchange for serving as a controlled opposition that does not affect their interests?

What about Edi Rama, what guarantee has he received from Tel Aviv and the powerful lobbying offices, that the alienation of national assets will be tolerated and will pass without getting wet by the prosecutors special? Is Zvrneci being used as a geopolitical currency of exchange for silence, silent amnesty and mutual immunity?

If SPAK does not dare to enter the offices where these permits are distributed and in the offices where it is silent about them, then the entire reform in justice fails and turns into a selective tool that scares away foreign passports and billions of investors.

Zvrneci is showing us that the battle is not between the left and the right, but between a corrupt political caste and ordinary citizens who are losing their homeland.

If we allow Zvrnec to fall without a resistance that shakes both the government and the fake opposition, then we have accepted that Albania is no longer a republic, but a fiefdom divided between two people who pretend to fight during the day to share the profits at night under the silent blessing of international factors. /square

Source: prizrenpost

The invisible threads that connect the resort with the petty interests of Albanian politics and international lobbying The recent protests by citizens and environmental activists against the construction of the tourist resort in Zvrnec have revealed something much more dangerous than just another greed for concrete.
