Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday that Kiev’s campaign for what he described as “long-term sanctions” against Russia’s military and energy infrastructure is yielding results, Anadolu reports.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Telegram, Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian forces can now strike Russian logistics routes almost all the way deep into Ukrainian territory currently under Russian control.<\/p>\n

He stressed that “there are practically no routes left.” safe in southern and eastern Ukraine,” linking the attacks to reported fuel shortages in Crimea and other Russian-controlled areas.<\/p>\n

“Our long-term sanctions plan is being implemented step by step,” Zelenskyy said.<\/p>\n

According to him, Ukrainian forces struck 15 Russian oil refineries between January and May and claimed that nearly 40 percent of Russia’s primary oil refining capacity is out of order since May.<\/p>\n

Zelenskyy claims Russia has imposed restrictions on aviation fuel and gasoline exports and is considering limiting oil exports.<\/p>\n

Russia has not commented on Zelenskyy’s recent claims about damage to its oil industry or logistics network.<\/p>\n
