Pakistan today “warmly” welcomed the interim peace agreement between the US and Iran to end their months-long war, which “provides much-needed confidence and stability to global markets and the world economy,” reports Anadolu.<\/p>\n

“This important progress reflects the power of sustained diplomatic engagement and the collective determination of friendly nations to choose dialogue over confrontation,” said Pakistan’s top diplomat, Ishaq Dar. in a post through American social media company X.<\/p>\n

Dar said the long-awaited development sends a “reassuring” message to the international community and provides much-needed confidence and stability to global markets and the world economy, especially to developing countries that are most vulnerable to regional instability.<\/p>\n

Throughout this period, he added, Pakistan remained actively engaged with all stakeholders and consistently advocated restraint and engagement. constructively, asserting that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only practical means to resolve all issues.<\/p>\n

“We appreciate the trust placed in Pakistan by the leadership of the US and Iran and commend their commitment to remain engaged in pursuing a peaceful and negotiated outcome,” he stressed.<\/p>\n

Dar also thanked Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey and Egypt as well as the UN and international partners, for “support and sincere diplomatic efforts and help to achieve this “important milestone”.<\/p>\n

While negotiations continue on outstanding issues, Pakistan is ready to support any efforts aimed at consolidating this progress, he added.<\/p>\n

“We look forward to the official signing ceremony on June 19 in Geneva and remain confident that this positive development will pave the way for lasting peace, stability and prosperity. common to the region and beyond, InshaAllah (God willing),” he added.<\/p>\n
