{"id":41163,"date":"2026-06-15T18:21:46","date_gmt":"2026-06-15T16:21:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/prizrenpost.com\/en\/world-leaders-gather-in-france-for-g7-summit-amid-us-iran-diplomatic-breakthrough\/"},"modified":"2026-06-15T18:21:47","modified_gmt":"2026-06-15T16:21:47","slug":"world-leaders-gather-in-france-for-g7-summit-amid-us-iran-diplomatic-breakthrough","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/prizrenpost.com\/en\/world-leaders-gather-in-france-for-g7-summit-amid-us-iran-diplomatic-breakthrough\/","title":{"rendered":"World leaders gather in France for G7 summit amid US-Iran diplomatic breakthrough"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/prizrenpost.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/G7.jpg\" style=\"width:100%;height:auto;margin-bottom:20px\"><\/p>\n<p>World leaders are arriving in Evian, France, for a three-day summit of the G-7 Group that is taking place against the backdrop of a major diplomatic development in the Middle East, after the US and Iran agreed on a framework agreement that opens a 60-day window for negotiations, reports Anadolu.<\/p>\n<p>US President Donald Trump is expected to arrive on Monday afternoon for talks with other leaders from the G7 countries: France, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the US.<\/p>\n<p>European Union leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa, will also attend.<\/p>\n<p>Several guests from outside the G7 will attend, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and leaders of South Korea South, Kenya and Egypt.<\/p>\n<p>Gulf leaders, among them the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, are also expected to participate.<\/p>\n<p>The summit has a special significance for the French president, Emmanuel Macron, who is hosting the meeting. It is expected to be the last G7 summit he attends as French president, as he will leave office next spring and is constitutionally barred from seeking a third consecutive term.<\/p>\n<p>Proceedings begin on Monday with a bilateral meeting between Macron and Trump before leaders gather in the evening for a dinner focused on what organizers describe as &#8220;major international challenges&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the day, Von der Leyen and Costa will hold a joint press conference.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, discussions will focus on international security issues. The leaders will meet Zelenskyy for talks on support for Ukraine before turning their attention to the Middle East crisis alongside Gulf leaders.<\/p>\n<p>Economic growth and artificial intelligence will dominate the final day of the summit. The leaders are scheduled to attend a working lunch with key figures from the AI \u200b\u200bindustry, including OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman.<\/p>\n<p>Macron is expected to conclude the summit with a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
