The United States is expected to lift all sanctions against Iran and pay war reparations as part of the agreement reached to end the conflict, the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baghaei, has declared.<\/p>\n

During his daily press conference, Baghaei made public some of the main points of the memorandum of understanding, according to the interpretation of the Iranian side, reports Sky News.<\/p>\n

According to Tehran, the deal includes unlocking Iranian assets abroad, while paying war reparations is considered one of the main economic objectives. The US, according to the memorandum, undertakes to realize these commitments.<\/p>\n

In terms of sanctions, Washington must abolish all primary and secondary punitive measures against Iran, as well as the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council. Also, immediately after the signing of the memorandum, the restrictions on the export of Iranian oil and petrochemical products will be removed.<\/p>\n

As for the nuclear program, the final details of the economic and nuclear issues will be determined within 60 days from the entry into force of the agreement.<\/p>\n

Another important point is related to the Strait of Hormuz. The memorandum envisages that Iran will guarantee the safety of navigation and the free passage of ships in this strategic sea route, in cooperation with Oman and after consultation with the interested parties. Also, fees will be applied for the use of the corridor.<\/p>\n

Lebanon is also mentioned in the document, which is cited three times, with special emphasis on respecting the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.<\/p>\n

According to Baghaei, in the event that the US does not implement the obligations assumed, Iran will react with reciprocal measures.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has confirmed the agreement reached, announced that the signing ceremony will take place on June 19 in Geneva, Switzerland.<\/p>\n
