Only 3 percent estimate that Kosovo will never become part of the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>The survey shows that the main benefit that citizens associate with EU membership is the improvement of Kosovo&#8217;s image in the international arena, mentioned by 49 percent of respondents. Followed by peace and security for Kosovo and the region with 43 percent, as well as a better future for children with 42 percent.<\/p>\n<p>As for the main obstacles to European integration, 40 percent of citizens consider widespread corruption as the biggest challenge. Next are the lack of interest of the EU in having Kosovo as a member with 27 percent and the lack of political will in Kosovo with 26 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The report also shows a high level of trust in the European Union. About 83 percent of citizens declare that they trust the EU, while 64 percent have a positive image of the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding financial support, 97 percent of citizens are aware that the European Union finances projects in Kosovo, while 65 percent consider this support effective.<\/p>\n<p>According to the respondents, the areas where the EU should play a greater role in Kosovo are economic development and trade, the health system, and the fight against corruption and strengthening the rule of law.<\/p>\n<p>The United States and NATO remain the most trusted institutions in Kosovo, according to a survey published within the WeBalkans program for 2026.<\/p>\n<p>According to the data, 88 percent of citizens declare that they trust the United States of America and the same amount in NATO, ranking them at the top of the list of the most reliable institutions and international partners for Kosovo.<\/p>\n<p>In the country the European Union ranks third, in which 83 percent of citizens express their trust.
