On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the religious, scientific and cultural magazine “Islamic Knowledge”, a solemn academy was organized this Tuesday. It emphasized the importance of this interview during the most difficult years in Kosovo.<\/p>\n

\nIt was June 1986.<\/p>\n

And the first issue of the magazine “Islamic Knowledge” came out of the press.<\/p>\n

All this, at the time when the Albanians of Kosovo were facing the continuous oppression of the Serbian regime.<\/p>\n

But this monthly magazine was not limited to religious content anymore.<\/p>\n

The magazine created by the Islamic Community of Kosovo, also served as an information tool for the most recent events. <\/p>\n

Indeed, its 40th anniversary gathered in the premises of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, well-known personalities of the country. <\/p>\n

The mufti of Kosovo, Naim T\u00ebrnava, said that “Islamic Knowledge” served as a powerful voice for the preservation of Albanian identity. <\/p>\n

“The magazine ‘Islamic Knowledge’ was not limited to the role of a religious information body, it turned into a center of thought and education, in a forum for the affirmation of Islamic and national values and in a powerful voice of preserving identity through its pages. The magazine documented the historical developments of the time, helped in the cultural and spiritual upliftment and contributed to keeping alive the intellectual and national aspirations of Albanians in difficult political circumstances.<\/p>\n

This magazine, it was said, did not stop publication even in the most difficult days.<\/p>\n

the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, also had great words for this.<\/p>\n

“Kosovo under occupation, during the 90s, while the freedom of expression and information in the Albanian language were faced with strict restrictions, the magazine ‘Islamic Knowledge’ preserved and continued its publication and served as a space for information, reflection and documentation about the developments that affected our society. Through its pages, the challenges with which faced the citizens of Kosovo, as well as important events of the time”, said Kurti. While the editor-in-chief of the magazine “Islamic Knowledge”, Driton Arifi, said that the mission of the magazine since its foundation is noble. then Islamic journalism, ‘Zani i Nalte’, which were extinguished due to unfavorable circumstances, to return to the scene after a period of closure of the monist system. In fact, ‘Islamic Knowledge’ was founded in difficult circumstances, even very difficult. But thankfully, thanks to God and then the precious contribution of those who gave their best, this survive”, said Arifi.<\/p>\n

At the end of this solemn academy, those who contributed to this magazine were not forgotten either.<\/p>\n
