Secretary of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Ilir Ferati, has stated that until this moment there has been no submission of signatures to the party’s headquarters for calling the Extraordinary Assembly.<\/p>\n
Ferati has said that the reports about such an initiative are not based on any official information, calling them assumptions.<\/p>\n
“I did not see that there was any source of information in the reporting of those portals. This is at the level of assumption. I am at the headquarters and there is nothing, neither delivery nor official information”, stated Ferati.<\/p>\n
His statement comes after reports that on Tuesday, July 14, signatures will be submitted for the LDK Assembly’s call for vote of confidence to the mayor Lumir Abdixiku.<\/p>\n
KosovaPress exclusively reported last week that the mayor of Peja Municipality, Gazmend Muhaxheri, is leading this process, visiting the branches of the LDK at the country level to request signatures of the delegates for the vote of confidence against Abdixik.<\/p>\n
The request for the dismissal of Abdixik is coming after the dissatisfaction within this party about the result of the LDK in the elections of June 7.<\/p>\n
Initially, Abdixik’s resignation was requested, but he had considered the resignation as unacceptable.<\/p>\n
LDK in these elections there were only 16.69 percent, or 18 deputies in the Kosovo Assembly.<\/p>\n
According to the LDK statute, the signatures of one third of the members of the assembly do not automatically dismiss the president, but only pave the way for the formal raising of the vote of confidence.<\/p>\n
The statutory composition of the LDK Assembly includes 355 delegates elected by branch assemblies, including the current president, Lumir Abdixhiku.<\/p>\n
In January of this year, Abdixhiku survived the vote of confidence of the LDK assembly, after the poor result in the elections of December 28 last year.<\/p>\n
