It is thought to be twice the age of our star, at 4.6 billion years, more or less the age of our entire solar system.<\/p>\n<p>This comet is called interstellar, as it is a celestial body that has entered our system, the third of its kind, from the distant universe.<\/p>\n<p>According to recent data from the European Southern Observatory&#8217;s Very Large Telescope in Chile, it is thought to have been born on the outskirts of an ancient star system, around a old star and characterized by lighter chemical elements, such as hydrogen and helium.<\/p>\n<p>This is an indication that the star was created in advance when the universe was very young, and less rich in heavy elements about 9 billion years ago.<\/p>\n<p>From the collected data, it results that the incomparable brightness of this celestial object, the measurement of the amounts of some elements such as carbon and nitrogen, are quite significant indicators of the origin of the comet.<\/p>\n<p>The latest study was published in the journal Nature Astronomy and was conducted by the University of Edinburgh, in collaboration with other European universities.<\/p>\n<hr style=\"margin:30px 0\">\n<p style=\"font-size:13px;color:#666\">Source: <strong>prizrenpost<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Comet 3I Atlas is older than the Sun.
