The coach of Real Madrid, Jos\u00e9 Mourinho, has reacted to Lionel Messi’s announcement that he will retire from football with the national team.<\/p>\n

Messi confirmed the decision through an official statement published on his Instagram account.<\/p>\n

“After all this time that has passed since the final match and after thinking about it for a long time, I want to inform you all that I have decided to retire from appearances with the national team”, he wrote Messi.<\/p>\n

“It was a decision that hurt me and still hurts me deep in my soul, but I understand that the moment has come”, he added. “I swear to you that I always gave everything I had, not only during the last years, in which we won everything, but also earlier. I always fought and gave everything for this shirt, to bring you joy and make you feel proud to be Argentine through football.”<\/p>\n
