The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by his colleagues, last night hosted the Special Representative of the European Union for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, Peter Sørensen, at a working dinner.

As the Prime Minister announced, the process of integration into the European Union was discussed at the dinner, including the full alignment of foreign policy with the 27-member bloc as a strategic determination, as well as Kosovo’s commitment and commitment to fulfilling of reforms. In the context of European integration, the process of membership in the Council of Europe was also discussed.

Prime Minister Kurti and Special Representative Sørensen also talked about political current affairs and internal developments.

Surprisingly, the Chief Negotiator appointed by the Government as Kosovo’s chief negotiator with the European Union, Jeton Zulfajn, was not present at the meeting.

“Zulfaj will coordinate the process of the European integration of Kosovo, supported by the relevant state structures”, it was said at the time in the Prime Minister’s announcement.

Zulfaj has been a political adviser to Kurti since March 2021, while with the new appointment he replaces the former chief negotiator, Besnik Bislimi.

While present last night at the meeting was also the former negotiator of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Besnik Bislimi.

Bislimi he also led Kosovo’s negotiations with Serbia, mediated by the European bloc in Brussels. In February of this year, the Government announced that in this dialogue process, Kosovo will be represented by Glauk Konjufca, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora.
