The Israeli army has carried out air and artillery attacks against the areas it continues to occupy in the Gaza Strip, reports Anadolu.
According to information received from eyewitnesses, the Israeli army has targeted the eastern areas of Gaza City, the Bureij refugee camp in the central part, and the east of the Rafah city in the south of the Strip. Gaza.
Israeli warplanes have carried out airstrikes to the east of Rafah, while at the same time the area has been hit with artillery fire. Witnesses reported that powerful explosions were heard in the area as well as occasional gunshots from Israeli military vehicles.
In the Zaitoun and Shujayya neighborhoods east of Gaza City, airstrikes and artillery strikes were also carried out, while explosions were heard in the area. The eastern areas of the Bureij refugee camp, in central Gaza, have also been targeted by open fire from Israeli military vehicles and artillery strikes.
The Israeli army continues its occupation of the southern and eastern border lines of the Gaza Strip as well as large areas in the north. This situation means that Israel has “de facto” occupied more than 50 percent of the territory of Gaza.
While Israel continues to violate the ceasefire reached with Hamas since October 10, according to the Media Office of the Government in Gaza, during this period about 969 violations have been registered and at least 418 Palestinians have been killed as a result of Israeli attacks.
As a result of the Israeli attacks that started on October 8, 2023 and lasted two years, over 71,000 Palestinians were killed in the Gaza Strip, while more than 171,000 others were injured.
