The Energy Corporation of Kosovo has announced that it is in full operational readiness, putting into operation all available production capacities to guarantee a stable supply of electricity to citizens, in conditions of falling temperatures and increased consumption.
According to the official announcement of KEK, since December 19, 2025, the corporation has increased its operational commitment to the maximum level, currently operating with five units generating.
As a result of this commitment, the daily production of electricity is reaching around 20,640 MWh, contributing significantly to the stability of the supply and the stability of the electricity system of the Republic of Kosovo.
KEK clarifies that under normal operating conditions, it usually operates with four generating units, while one unit is kept as a hot reserve for needs and periodic technical maintenance.
However, despite the age advanced facilities, thanks to the continuous commitment of the technical staff and the dedication of the management, the parallel operation of five units has become possible, with the exception of two short technical interventions in one of the units.
From KEK they emphasize that the corporation remains committed to keeping in operation as much production capacity as possible, always respecting the standards of technical safety and operational stability.
“Our main goal is to guarantee a sustainable production of electricity and energy security of citizens, especially in periods of increased demand”, says KEK’s announcement.
