New Chief Prosecutor, EU: To fight corruption and organized crime

The Office of the European Union in Kosovo has welcomed the appointment of the Chief State Prosecutor Mr. Zejnullah Gashi, after more than four years of agreements for the position of prosecutor.

In the reaction of the EU, it is said that before Mr. Gashi is the implementation of a mandate focused on ensuring prosecutorial integrity and accountability and fighting high-level corruption and organized crime.

Meanwhile on Tuesday, acting president Albulena Haxhiu signed the decree for the appointment of Zejnullah Gashi, in the position of the chief prosecutor.

Gashi officially started his job today with a 7-year mandate.
