The government of North Macedonia will provide charter flights for the evacuation of its citizens from crisis areas, reports Anadolu.
This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia.
“The safety of Macedonian citizens is the highest priority of the Government. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade continues to approach the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a coordinated and fully responsible manner. the implementation of all activities related to the evacuation of citizens from the affected areas”, says the announcement of the Ministry, adding: “In this regard, we inform the public that in accordance with the conclusion of the Government, the public procurement procedure for the organization of charter flights has been launched in order to ensure safe evacuation”. The Ministry emphasizes that given the urgency and the fact that the security situation is constantly changing, the procedure will be implemented in accordance with the Law on Procurement Public, with the implementation of the shortened deadlines provided for such situations.
“For the implementation of this service, funds worth up to 60 million denars have been provided, provided in the Budget of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade. Depending on the final number of Macedonian citizens presented and the number of charter flights that will be carried out, it is possible to use only a part of the foreseen amount”, it is stated in notice.
