The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has expressed her deep sorrow for the death of the former Speaker of the Parliament and distinguished academic, Nexhat Daci.

It was with deep sadness that I received the news of the death of the former Speaker of the Republic of Kosovo, academician and respected professor,

Nexhat Daci. Academician Daci was a rare personality who united knowledge. scientific, academic dedication and institutional commitment, leaving an indelible mark as Speaker of the Assembly, deputy, academic and leader of the country’s scientific institutions. In the most difficult years for the people of Kosovo, especially during the nineties, Academician Nexhat Daci was strongly engaged in the service of the cause of freedom and independence, as a close associate of the historical President, Dr. Ibrahim Rugova.

With knowledge, prudence and vision, he made a valuable contribution to establishing the strong foundations of the state of Kosovo. His multidimensional contribution to the building of the state, to the development of higher education and to the advancement of science will remain an important part of our institutional and intellectual history.

In these difficult moments, I express my sincere condolences to the Daci family, friends, colleagues and all those who had fate to know him and work with him. May the memory of Academician Nexhat Dacin be permanent!
